Supervisors of AIC Erik Sturm refer to him as "a world class Vehicle Operator". DV's of Travis' 60AMW Travis AFB CA, consistently compliment his "can do" attitude, professionalism and superior dress and appearance. He was recently coined by General Schwartz, Commander in Chief, United Nations Command, Republic of Korea. Airman Sturm is also a community activist for base and local community activities. For his fellow Travis Team members, he encouraged everyone to participate in squadron sports and booster club activities, leading them to a successful intramural season. Airman Sturm helped organize a squadron fund-raiser performing security detail at the Sear Point Raceway raising over ,000. In addition, he dedicates time to coaching little league football and serving meals annually for local homeless veterans. Airman Sturm is also an avid supporter of the local March of Dimes Chapter, volunteering time to set-up for annual community fund-raisers. A native of Pontiac, Michigan, Erik's recent accomplishments include: Travis Top 3 Rocker Arm Award; 60th Transportation Squadron Airman of the Quarter, Jul-Sep 01; 60th Logistics Group Airman of the Quarter, Jul-Sep 01; as well as 60th Transportation Squadron's 2001 Airman of the Year.
