Dustin Wayne Peters was born on August 22, 1978 in Texarkana, Texas, and was killed in action in the vicinity of Mosul, Iraq on July 11, 2004. He entered the United States Air Force on January 29, 1997. After completing basic military training at Lackland AFB, Texas, he attended technical training at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri, as a vehicle operator journeyman. His previous assignments included Anderson AFB, Guam and Whiteman AFB, Missouri. He was assigned to Little Rock AFB on November 28, 2000. While here, he did outstanding work as the Equipment Support Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. He deployed in support of Operations in the Southwest Asian theater four times during his tenure at Little Rock AFB. His outstanding dedication resulted in him earning the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and with Valor and the Air Force Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He completed Airman Leadership School. He is survived by his son Dalton Peters, his mother Linda Benning, his father Dennis Peters, and his half-sister, Amber Benning.
