Friends and family of Airman First Class Zachary Cuddeback remembered and celebrated his life at a memorial service Wednesday at Charlottesville's Main Street Arena.

The William Monroe High School graduate died after a gunman opened fire on a bus at Frankfurt, Germany's airport on March 02.

Wednesday Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to Zachary Cuddeback. There were warm embraces, plenty of tears and childhood memories all as a final farewell to Cuddeback.

Zachary's mother De Loyet said, "He loved all that he encountered and found the best in who and what they were."

The service was a celebration of Cuddeback's life, remembering who he was: a 2008 graduate from William Monroe High School, a car enthusiast and passionate about ice hockey.

The tribute was held at the Main Street Arena, the ice was Cuddeback's home away from home. His family and friends say hockey was the only reason he would ever get out of bed before 7:00 a.m.

Hundreds of people packed into the arena for the hour long service, all paying their respects to Cuddeback: airman, friend and son.

A memorial has been setup in Zac's name:
